Home Chemical Disposal

Home chemical products can be dangerous if not properly used, stored or disposed of. When these items are no longer needed, they're referred to as "household hazardous waste" or HHW for short.

Anywhere along the disposal route -- from your curb to trash facilities -- chemicals can present a threat to the public, solid waste workers, the environment, and solid waste infrastructure and equipment if not disposed of properly. Residents are encouraged to separate HHW from their household garbage and recycling, and dispose of it in a responsible manner.

SWA maintains a Home Chemical & Recycling Center on 441 between Boynton Beach Blvd and Atlantic Ave. The address is 13400 South State Road 7. It is open Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and Saturday 7am-3pm.

Items accepted:

  • Propane tanks

  • Paint

  • Car batteries

  • Motor & Cooking Oil
